Nathalie Stutzmann returns to Bordeaux as Associate Artist for the 2016/2017 season

Following her hugely successful debut as Associate Artist with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, Nathalie Stutzmann is about to begin another close relationship as Associate Artist with the Bordeaux Opera for the 2016/2017 season. She will join the Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine and conductor Paul Daniel for two performances of Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder at Bordeaux Grand Auditorium on October 6 and 7, to be followed by a recital of French songs on January 21 and conducting performances of Brahms on March 30, 31 and April 2.

This month Nathalie will also appear as a featured soloist with her pianist Inger Södergren for a recital of Schubert’s Winterreise at Girona Auditori on October 16.

Nathalie Stutzmann begins first season as Associate Artist of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra

Concerto magazineTo begin her first season as Associate Artist of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, Nathalie Stutzmann will be conducting Schubert’s Symphony No. 4 and Mozart’s Great Mass on September 15, 16 and 17 at Sala São Paulo. On September 22, 23 and 24, she’ll take up the baton for Lalo’s Le Roi d’Ys Overture, Schumann’s Piano Concerto with soloist Kathia Buniatishvili and Bizet’s Symphony No. 1.  She’ll wrap up leading also Bizet’s Suite No. 1 from Carmen on September 25.

Opposite: Nathalie is featured in the South American Gramophone this month, discussing her career as both singer and conductor, her joy of making music and her work with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra.

Nathalie Stutzmann sings Mahler 3 at the Verbier Festival – live on medici.tv

Nathalie Stutzmann returns to the Verbier Festival for the closing concert on August 7 as the featured soloist singing in Mahler’s Symphony No. 3. She will be joining forces with the Verbier Festival Orchestra and Music Director of San Francisco Symphony Michael Tilson Thomas.

The concert will receive a live broadcast on medici.tv at 7pm local time.

While Nathalie Stutzmann was making her conducting debut at the head of Konzerthaus Berlin symphony orchestra on June 2, conducting Schubert’s Symphony No. 4, she was asked at the last minute to jump from the podium to sing Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with Anna Prohaska in the second part and conduct at the same time the symphony orchestra the way she does with Orfeo 55, replacing sick Philippe Jaroussky. She received a 20 minutes standing ovation from the German public thanking her for this incredible performance, which she repeated on June 3 and 4 with equal success. A world premiere in the history of classical music!
